sera provides an AI-powered conversational platform designed to offer emotional support and guidance. Our service is intended for educational and wellness purposes only.
Important: sera is not a substitute for professional mental health care, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of qualified health providers with any questions you may have regarding a mental health condition.

sera is primarily designed and optimized for users in the following regions:

Users from other regions: While you may access sera from anywhere in the world, please be aware that crisis resources, emergency hotlines, and certain features are localized for the regions listed above. If you are located outside these regions and experience a crisis, please contact your local emergency services directly. We recommend selecting the closest supported region in your settings for the best experience.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not use the service for any harmful, illegal, or abusive purposes
- Understand that sera is not equipped to handle crisis situations

6. Subscription and Payments
We offer the following access tiers:
- Try It Out (No Account): 3 messages to experience sera before signing up
- Free tier: Unlimited messages with core features including basic personality analysis, daily reflection prompts, 5 wellness techniques, 4 mindful games, weekly mood summary, 7-day conversation history, therapist briefing export, and crisis support resources
- Premium tier ($4.99/month or $49/year): Everything in Free, plus advanced personality analysis, full Wellness Center (22 techniques), full games library (18 games), mood analytics & patterns, personalized reflection prompts, session insights, crisis safety plan builder, unlimited conversation history, and priority support
- Premium subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods

8. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of sera are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, sera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the service. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
10. Dispute Resolution
We want to address your concerns without needing a formal legal case. Before filing a claim against sera, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us first. We'll try to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of our services.
International Users
If you access sera from outside Canada, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer protection rights that you may be entitled to under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the service. Your continued use of sera after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
